We had so much fun last week! We ended Thursday with our Build-A-Bug Activity. This photo is a bug I made that evening for my son. I thought you might like to see what they looked like. It was a really fun way for the children to show what they had learned about insect body parts. Not to mention yummy too!
We also watched the Magic School Bus Butterfly DVD with Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Hyslop's classes. What a fun way to end the week!
On Wednesday we let our Painted Lady butterflies go. As soon as I carried the container outside, they started fluttering excitedly around in the container. They could feel the wind and smell the fresh air and they couldn't wait to be free! The children saw how happy the butterflies were, so they felt better about saying good-bye.
Last week we also learned about the letter Ff. We were so fortunate that Jaxon's Nana had donated bags of fossils to the class. The children studied them with magnifying glasses. Then they chose 4 or more words that began with Ff and made a web in their journals. The best part? They got to keep the fossils!
Not sure how we are going to top last week - but I do a few good measurement lessons prepared for math. I have recently discovered the world of Pinterest and kindergarten blogs and am having a lot of fun collecting ideas.
Well, like many of you, I am running around to soccer games this weeked. So I'm off to cheer on the Eagles. I hope the boys and girls who were in the tournament this weekend had a great time.
See you Monday!
