Tomorrow is October! September just flew by for me in a blink! I really enjoyed meeting with so many parents last week. Thanks for taking the time to come see me.
This is going to be a quick post tonight. Just a few pictures to share a bit of what we've been up to in kindergarten.

Here are the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom trees we made. There was quite a bit of fine motor work involved in making these. I think the children did a great job. They loved putting their names on their trees.
This is our classroom calendar. The children love being special helper because it means they get to lead our calendar activities. Calendar activities include both math and language arts "prescribed learning outcomes" in our curriculum, but to the children it's just fun!
I used to call this the Morning Message, then last year it was the Daily News. This year I saw another kindergarten teacher call it Chit Chat on her blog and I thought that sounded fun...and they say 5 year olds have short attention spans! We started this last week. I "share the pen" with the children, which they love. It gives them ownership of the lesson.
These are the stuffies we use in our morning "Name Games" as the children learn each others' name. We pass Clifford during, "Dilly Dilly Bumblebee will you say your name for me?" We just began learning to clap the syllables in our names as we play this. Cookie is on loan from my son for the game, "Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar". Ella belongs to my daughter, and is visiting to play Willoughby Walloby. The children were very interested in the band-aid on Ella's trunk! Ask your child to teach you our name games!
That's it for tonight! The Nyquil is kicking in and I've got a busy Monday planned for the kindies! Hope you had a great weekend!
